Charles D. "Chuck" Walter, age 80, of Findlay, died at 10:45pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on August 18, 1942, in Eagle Township to the late C. Franklin and Anna (Beach) Walter.
On July 21, 2011, Chuck married Marsha Harris and she survives. He had been previously married to Miriam Folk Kinnison. Other survivors include a daughter, Nicole "Nikki" (Andy) Oswalt of Jenera; sister, Ruth (Jerry) Frantz of rural Bluffton; grandchildren: Carter and Camryn Oswalt. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Lauer and brother, Robert "Bob" (wife, Janet, survives) Walter.
Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Cory Rawson High School. He had been a member of the Findlay Elks and had his pilot's license. He had worked construction as I-75 was being constructed. He drove truck for Bordens Dairy, Garner Trucking, dispatcher for Daugherty Trucking and the project manager in building the Peterbilt Dealership in Findlay. He went on to be the President of Peterbilt and retired as the President and CEO of Mack Truck in Findlay.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, where funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, October 7, 2022. Mike Harris and Andy Oswalt will officiate at the service with burial to follow at Tawa Cemetery.
