Jack L. Cotterman

1943 - 2019

Jack L. Cotterman, Sr., 76, of North Baltimore, passed away at 3:50am on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at his residence. He was born on January 19, 1943, in Cygnet to the late Carl and Inez (McCartney) Cotterman. He married Cheryl Long on June 5, 1964, and she survives. Jack is also survived by his sons: Robert Cotterman of Memphis, TN, Michael Scott (Judi) Cotterman of Greenwich, OH, Jack (Stephanie) Cotterman, Jr. of North Baltimore, and John (Lori) Cotterman of North Baltimore; his daughter, Jennifer (Jeff Cantrell) Conley of Monclova, OH; his brothers: Carl (Sue) Cotterman of North Baltimore, Jerry (Barb) Cotterman of CO, Tom (Beverly) Cotterman of Lakeview, OH, Frank Cotterman of Bowling Green, Jim (Mary) Anderson of Findlay, Rick (Rose) Anderson of Findlay, and Bob (Kathy) Anderson of North Baltimore; his sister, Helen (Mike) Heinze of OH; his grandchildren: Caitlin (fiancÚ Jesse) Cotterman, Austin Conley, Cody (fiancÚ Maddie) Cotterman, Chase Cotterman, Brendan Cotterman, Rebecca Cotterman, and Michael Cotterman; 6 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Judy Butler, Connie Roseboom, and Margaret Bean; and his step-mother, Dorothy Ricard Cotterman. Jack retired from Cresset Chemical, where he was a Shipping Supervisor. He also had worked as a Supervisor with Norbalt Rubber for 28 years. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, where he had taught Sunday School, and was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 539, both in North Baltimore. Jack was a former Scout Master. He enjoyed spending time at the lake and fishing, but his greatest love and joy in life were his children and grandchildren, and attending their games, events, and activities. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 23, 2019, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor Duane Weaver officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, August 22 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
