Roger D. Wadding

1956 - 2019

Roger Dean Wadding, passed away at his home on August 28th, 2019. Roger was born in Findlay, Ohio on February 9, 1956 to the late Gerald D. and Margaret I. {Bair} Wadding. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Sandra Goble Wadding. They were married on December 21, 1978 and celebrated their 40th anniversary this past year. They made their home in Findlay, Ohio where they had two children: Daniel J. {Sara} Wadding and Corrina C. {Michael} Trumpy of Findlay. He has four grandchildren: Jaden D. Wadding, Alexis L. Wadding, Harper C. Trumpy, and Emersyn R. Trumpy. He is also survived by his sister, Rhonda J. {John} Firestone; brother, John M. Wadding of Findlay; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and sister- and brother-in-laws. Roger was a 1974 graduate of Findlay High School where he studied carpentry and took pride in the many remodeling jobs he had done over the years. Roger retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in 2010 after 33 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting rocks, polishing them to make jewelry and putting together model airplanes. Roger and Sandy enjoyed taking day trips, antiquing or just taking scenic rides in the country. In his early days, he played baseball for Cooper Tire and was on a bowling league for several years. He was an avid deer hunter and so proud to teach his son how to hunt. Roger spent many years hunting in Pennsylvania and Ohio with his son, father, brother, uncles, cousins, nephews and close friends. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie with his friends and had many fishing and hunting stories to tell. He enjoyed watching his grandson's baseball games, granddaughter’s dance recitals and school musicals. He truly loved spending time with his family having cookouts and looked forward to his daughter-in-law’s cooking. He spent many years riding his motorcycle with his buddies and was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, win or lose. Roger enjoyed gardening and loved teaching his grandchildren how to garden. He had a very special spoiled dog, Bella. She stole his heart and was always by his side. He enjoyed spending time at his daughter's, sitting by the pond and will always be remembered by his son-in-law as "Red Neck Rog." We would like to thank Dr. Smith at OSU Medical Center who took excellent care of him and his Home Health Nurse Kayla with Bridge Home Health. He really looked forward to her visits and Natasha with Heartland Hospice who helped all of our family through a very difficult time. Roger was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Findlay. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 3rd from 1:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay.
