Florence Mae Okuly

1931 - 2019

Florence Mae Okuly, age 88, of Findlay passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born on the family farm on March 10, 1931 to the late Ralph and Bernice (Keeleor) Stough. She married her high school sweetheart, Francis I. Okuly on June 11, 1949; they celebrated 59 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. She is survived by two children: Steve (Karen) Okuly of Findlay, and Cindy (Fred) Forman of Akron; a grandson, Ben (Melissa) Okuly; and a great-granddaughter, Mayley Okuly. A brother, Larry Stough of Henderson, NV; and two sisters: Frances (John) Constant of Muncie, IN, and Bonnie Holden of Findlay also survive. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph and Richard Stough. Flo was a graduate of Van Buren High School, where she was active in cheerleading, choir, and the school newspaper, was a member of the National Honor Society, and served as the Junior class president. One of her most cherished childhood memories was riding her father's work horses. She worked for RCA, the Findlay City Schools, and served as a bookkeeper for Findlay Equipment and other local businesses. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was a member of the Moose and Elks. She summered at Lake Erie for 30 years, where she and Oak had many close friends and cherished memories. Flo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her infectious laugh and fun-loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (Downtown) with Father Kyle Gase officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2019 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be private at a later date.
