James A. Gill, 75, of Bloomdale, passed away at 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at his residence. He was born on October 12, 1943, in Fostoria to the late Paul and Gwendolyn (Leathers) Gill. He married Carol Starr on September 3, 1966, and she survives. Jim is also survived by his daughters: Julie (Donald) Hart of Jackson, MI, and Jamie Gill of Mt. Pleasant, MI; his son, Brian Gill of Bloomdale; his sisters: Carol Blythe of Toledo, Sharon Daniels of Bowling Green, Cheryl (Albert) Huff of Risingsun, and Rosemary (Stanley) Patten of Risingsun; his daughter-in-law, Carol Gill of Findlay; and his 9 beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Gill; and his brother, Lee Gill. Jim retired in 2011 from Bowling Green State University. He had previously worked as an over the road truck driver for 18 years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and Moose Lodge #698 in Findlay. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan who enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and gaming. Jim was a loving husband, son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held 1 hour (11:00am-12:00pm) prior to the service. Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay and/or Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio.
