Jane E. (Vollmar) Routson, 92, of North Baltimore, passed away at 4:07 a.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019, at her residence. She was born on January 23, 1926, in Wood County to the late Harold F. and Winifred (Eckman) Vollmar. On May 6, 1945, she married Charles E. Routson, and they were married for over 61 years. Charles preceded her in death on August 28, 2006. They have 2 children: Terry L. Routson (deceased), and Shari L. Routson-Griggs (Jerry) of Rawson, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Park (Gene) of Findlay, Ohio. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Tj Routson (Heather) of McComb, Ohio, Angi Grohoske (Jan) of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Mimi Burner (Rob) of Findlay, Ohio and Christopher Routson (Tammy) of Findlay, Ohio; 2 step-grandchildren: Ryan Griggs of Toledo, Ohio and Aaron Griggs of Ft. Wayne, IN; 6 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Fredie, Ellie, Tucker, Nickolas, and Christopher, Jr.; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Kayla, Aj and Quinn; her 2 sisters: Gwen Hartley of Bowling Green, Ohio and Charlotte Parker of Bowling Green, Ohio; her brother, Craig Vollmar (Barb) of Winter Haven, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Jane grew up in and around the once very popular Vollmars Park, which her parents owned. She attended Tontogony High School, where she was Editor of her high school newspaper. Jane always loved writing to family, especially her cousin Mary Helen in Venice, Florida. Jane had been active in the Twigs Blanchard Valley Hospital Volunteers for over 30 years, and she enjoyed the organization very much. Jane and Charles were both active in the Moose Lodge #698, for many years, where Charles was the Governor several times. Jane loved hearing from her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and her two best comrade cats: Mr. Lilly and Smokie. Per Jane's request there will be a private family graveside service in Bechtel Cemetery, Allen Township. Pastor Ben Lowell will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. The family wishes to thank the Blanchard Valley Hospital I.C.U., The Heritage, Bridge Home Health and Hospice, and many friends for all of the loving support and care you showed during this difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society, Teddy's Rescue, Flag City Honor Flight, and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
