Can't begin to say how sorry I am to hear of James's passing.
Always was in awe of his sports abilities. I was his offensive center in freshman/ sophomore football, watched him excell in jr./sr. years. Before that, always was impressed with his abilities on the ballfield.
We spent a lot of time talking about life when we were in jr. high/ high school, usually sitting in Dale's Mustang.
We had a lot in common, I think we helped each other get through a lot of teenage angst.
I was amazed, and honored, that he trusted me with his private thoughts and feelings.
We lost touch over the years, but I had a few opportunities over the years to re- connect, and it was always pleasant and inspirational to talk with him. Of the 60+ kids in our class, James was the one I thought of most often, but he never knew that.
I did not know that he was sick, and surely would have been by his side if I had known.
In life, we take too much for granted.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and know that I will miss James much as you will.
God bless James and his family.
