Larry R. "Buck" Evans, age 71, of Arlington died at 11:37am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was the son of Edward Evans and Norma (Schalk) Evans Romick, and was raised by his step father, Dan Romick. He married Jeanette L. Schaller on September 8, 1968 and she survives. Also surviving are a son: Scott (Jennifer) Evans of Findlay; daughters: Holly (Elgin) Card of West Chester, Ohio and Kathleen May of Arlington; brothers: Danny Joe (Peggy) Romick of Findlay and David Romick of Ashville, North Carolina; sister: Linda (Jerry) Luther of Noblesville, Indiana. He has 5 grandchildren: Kaleb Evans, Kennedee Card, Jayse Card, Jayden Card and Madison May and 2 great grandchildren: Kaiden Evans and Caleigh Evans; and several nieces and nephews. Buck was a 1966 graduate of Arlington High School and served in the United States Army from 1968-1970, serving one year in Vietnam. He retired in 2010 after 40 years of service at Hancor/ADS in shipping and receiving. He is a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera. He formerly was a member of the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Arlington V.F.W. #4510 and the SoHanCo Club. He enjoyed fishing especially his annual Canada fishing trip. Visitation will be held from 2-8pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera. Pastor Alois Schmitzer III and Pastor Matt Nowak will officiate and interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
