Dana Joe Kimmel, 85, of rural Arlington, passed away at 2:07am on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington. He was born on January 29, 1934 in Van Buren Township to the late Lee and Lida (Freed) Kimmel. He lived in the home in which he was born for his entire life. He is survived by his sister, Rachel A. (Richard A) White, of Maumee, OH; 5 nieces; and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. (Shirley) Kimmel. Dana was a member of the former Eagle Creek Church of the Brethren. He worked at Triplett for ten years and was a longtime farmer. He loved going to auctions, swap meets, and flea markets with friends and making new friends throughout the country. He had a talent for woodworking and working on his own machinery. The family wishes to offer special thanks to neighbors and friends and to Dr. Walton, who have looked out for Dana for years. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. A funeral service will begin at 11:30am on Saturday, immediately following visitation. Pastor Andrew Sampson will officiate, and burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Van Buren Township.
