Janice Ann Bowman, age 84, formerly of Mt. Blanchard, died at 3:49am on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born on September 11, 1936 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Raymond and Nina (Cole) Trout. She married Jim D. Bowman on June 5, 1954 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2019. She is survived by sons: Gary (Deb) Bowman of Mt. Blanchard, Don Bowman of Mt. Blanchard and Denny (Connie) Bowman of Findlay; daughter, Pat Davis of Clarkston, Michigan; brother, Glenn (Jane) Trout of Naples, Fla. She has 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Carl Ray "Harry" Bowman; brothers: Leon, Gerald, and Mark Trout and sister, Helen Calvin. She was a member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church. She and her husband wintered in Mesa, Arizonia for 29 years. She retired from Riverdale Schools after 20 years. She and Jim had a boat and a camper at Lake Erie where she affectionately got the nickname of "Perch Queen". Janice acquired many hobbies and interests in Arizona including photography, painting and playing the harmonica. She was a great cook and enjoyed traveling but without question her greatest love was her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, January 8, 2021, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the funeral from 10-11am. Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be given to either Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, the Riverdale Athletic Boosters or to the Mt. Blanchard Park. Online condolences may be sent to www.coldrencrates.com. She was always so kind, gentle, and patient....willing to add another plate to the table for whoever was playing at the house! Following our move to Arizona in 2013 we had numerous opportunities to spend time with Jim and Janice.  What a kind, loving, and generous couple they were.  We loved them like family... uh, yea. We enjoyed our visits to Monte Vista, to see them and even stayed with them on a couple of occasions.  We always went out to eat at Sweet Tomatoes for the "All You Care to Eat" opportunity which we all took advantage of to a greater extent than we probably should have. Aunt Janice was a grand lady in the fine tradition of grand ladies; a loving, caring mother and a wonderful friend to all who met her.  She will be missed, and we can look forward to a cheery smile and a big, warm hug when we meet again in the great hereafter.
