Lena June Worstine, 97, of Arlington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 6:46am at Bluffton Mennonite Memorial Home. Lena was born on March 7, 1922 in Jackson Township, Hancock County, to the late Clyde C. and Cora (Longbrake) Richard. Lena married Edward F. Worstine on December 31, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1979. She is survived by her sons: Ray D. (Waneta) Worstine of rural Forest, and Kenneth L. (Patricia-dec’d) Worstine of Cullman, AL; her daughter, Anita J. Worstine of Findlay. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Sandy Worstine, Sherry (Andy) Diller, Brad (Shelly) Worstine, Lisa (Matt) Geggie, Emily Worstine, John (Barb) Worstine, and Brandon Worstine; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard E. Worstine; brothers: Harry W. and George J. Richard; and her sister, Viola M. Sams. Lena was a 1940 graduate of Arlington High School and a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at the Findlay Glove Factory. She was an active bowler with the Prime Time Bowling League until the age of 85, and was an avid reader – especially newspapers and daily devotionals. She loved watching sports on TV. She followed football and basketball, and Cleveland Indians baseball. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, card games, and collecting bells. She especially loved knitting afghans and crocheting doilies and making handmade crafts and gifts for others. She was a Homemaker and Mother who loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Arlington United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Gregory and Pastor Harry Scott will officiate and burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29 from 4:00-8:00pm at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington and for one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00am) at the church. Memorial Donations may be made to Arlington United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coldrencrates.com.
