1932 - 2021

printable version

Rosemary Ellen Moffitt, 88, of Findlay passed away at the Bridge Hospice Care Center on February 10, 2021. She was born on Sept. 21, 1932 in Findlay to the late Harry Moffitt and Ethel Cook Moffit. She had been a resident of The Heritage for 7 1/2 years. She is survived by her loving sister, Nadine (Tom) Thomas of rural Findlay. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Oberly and three brothers, Glenn, Max and Eldon. Rosemary loved to walk and could be seen almost daily downtown. One of her favorite destinations was to stop at Wilson's for her favorite sandwich and to visit with friends. She did not know a stranger. Rosemary loved God and enjoyed sharing her message no matter where she went. Doing things for others was a special joy. Among her possessions is a box of thank you cards that she had received showing the many ways she shared. She suffered much pain in her lifetime but held tight to her faith and trust through it all. This time she was unable to fight the battle and said "I am ready". The family would like extend a thank you to the staff at Bridge Hospice for your care during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, February 15, 2021 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Darwin Dunten officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00am-2:00pm Monday (prior to the service) at the funeral home. Memorials can be given to Bridge Hospice, 1900 South Main Street, Findlay or to First United Brethren Church, 629 Rector Ave, Findlay or to the Gideons. Online condolences can be shared with the family by visiting

So saddened to read of Rosemary’s passing. My mother and father, John and Mary DeHaven, were always very fond of her. She led a fulfilling life with much pride and dignity. May she rest in peace, and may God hold her in the palm of His hand.
Blessings. Ann DeHaven

I had the joy of knowing Rosemary from the Heritage. I no longer work there and was saddened to read of her passing. She could be a real handful from day to day but I will always remember her sitting in the dining room with her soda and how she always greeted everyone by reciting the verse “This is a day that the LORD has made... I will rejoice and be glad in it”. I try to say that every morning when I look in the mirror. May the LORD richly bless you all.

Nadine,I am sorry for the loss of your sister Rosemary. I could say I have know her all my life, as she used to babysit myself, my brother, and my sister. And we enjoyed seeing her at the Heritage when my parents were there. She always gave me a pamphlet she picked up at church. May God Bless you and comfort you. Love Julie

Nadine and family, I want to extend my sincere condolences for the loss of Rosemary. She was such a good and faithful servant as she walked this earth and boy did she like to walk. She would usually take a ride after church if I ask her but otherwise she chose walking. I’ve known Rosemary for many many years from church and she told people what was on her mind. She didn’t hold back. She’s probably in heaven telling the angels what to do. There are so many humorous stories I can remember from her. I’m not going to be sad. She’s with our sweet Jesus and we will see her again soon. I will pray that God will lift you and your family up and comfort you during this difficult time.

Dear Nadine and family, I am so sorry for your loss of Rosemary, I grew up knowing her and your Mom since we lived in the same neighborhood and attended the same church. The angels are singing that Rosemary is home. May her memory be a blessing. Sincerely Deborah Kelly
