Vickie Eileen Susko

1943 - 2020

printable version

Vickie Eileen Susko, 77 of Findlay passed away Thursday afternoon, December 31, 2020. Vickie was born on August 29, 1943 in Findlay to Paul and Thelma (Cook) Myers. She married Gregory Susko on June 10, 1961 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2011. She is survived by children; Gregory John III (Michele) Susko, Geoffrey John Susko and Christine Ann Whitman, grandchildren; Brittany (Justin) Whitman, Lindsay (Conner) Stephan, Lauren (Patrick) Gross, Jared Whitman, Jordan Whitman, great grandchildren, Kori, Emerson, Sloane, Mackenzie, Addison and a sister, Darlene Miles. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Myers. Mrs Susko was a 1961 graduate of Findlay High School. Vickie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was greatly loved because of the time, feeling, thought, effort, passion and love she modeled on a daily basis. She was involved in all aspects of her children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's lives and dedicated to their upbringing, success and happiness. Vickie was viewed by many as a kind and giving person, often giving great thought to helping other people and making others happy, even before herself. She enjoyed family, friends, reading, social media, card games and volunteering her time to help others. Later in life, she developed a passion for the card game, Bridge, because of its social and challenging nature. She was active in service league, garden club, school reading programs, twigs and the FCC nine hole league. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the family will receive friends for 2 hours (1:00 - 3:00pm) prior to the service. A private family burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Vickie to the Make a Wish Foundation or The Salvation Army Christmas Fund. We are so sorry for your loss. We moved to Findlay in 1975 next to the Suskos. We didn't know anyone in Findlay. Vickie and the family were so welcoming and we soon felt right at home. What a wonderful lady and a beautiful smile.

We cannot begin to tell you of the feeling of loss we have and our sadness for all the family. Our last memory was Vickie delivering a meat loaf Mary Lou wanted when she had COVID in October. Vickie and Greg had to be our closest friends in Findlay, or anywhere. We will miss her spunk, charity and smile. Please know our prayers are with the family and so sorry we will not be able to attend the service.

We are shocked and saddened beyond belief that we lost our dear friend, Vickie! Growing up in Findlay as we did, we've known and cherished her as a friend for a long time. When we can once again get our bridge club going, there will be an empty chair at the table! We love and miss you, Vickie!

Chris,Jeff, Greg and family, Like so many of Vickie's friends we are shocked and crushed that we no longer have Vickie's smiling face and fun personality to look forward to. We go way back to golf trips with Greg and Vickie, garden club, birthday breakfast girls, bunco, cards and just plain old friendship. We will miss her terribly. Please know that under different circumstances we would be at the funeral tomorrow without question but we just can't in this covid world. Hug each other, relish the memories and know that we are with you tomorrow in spirit. JoAnne and Ed
