Fred J. Johnston, 94 of Findlay passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in the loving care of The Heritage nurses and staff. He was born in Findlay on February 28, 1926 to the late Ralph H. and Ruth (Russell) Johnston. Fred married Mary E. Weber on April 8, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2008. Mr. Johnston is survived by three children; Pennie (Bob-deceased) Wells, Toni (John) Bunn and Bob (Amy) Johnston all of Findlay. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sister, Helen Opperman, his companion for many years, Hope Riegle and numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jake Opperman. Fred worked for many years for Marathon Oil Company as a transport driver and was also a farmer. He was a member of the East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. A family only graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10:00am at Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Fred to the East Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
