printable version

David Ray Bond, 80, died July 15, 2020. He is finally at peace as he reunites with the love of his life, Sis Bond. David was born May 1, 1940 to Ralph and Irene (Myers) Bond. Both preceded him in death. David married Roberta Jean "Sis" Phillips on November 14, 1964. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2011. Surviving are his three children: Dana (Chris) Patterson, David (Yasmin) Bond, and Dru (Jason) Deeds; and grandchildren: Drew, Abby, Zoe, Zac, Isla, and Jacob. David was also preceded in death by his brother, James William Bond; and a sister, Constance "Connie" Bond Rettig. David graduated from Findlay High School in 1958 and then enlisted in the United States Army. He was posted at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky as chaplain’s assistant. Upon returning home, David joined the family business, Bond Body Shop, where he worked until retirement. Young David was a talented diver and often performed from the high dive at Riverside Park. He taught his children to do forward and back flips off the diving board. David was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed golfing, and traveling with his wife and, later in life, making his social rounds. The Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will provide military rites at a private graveside service. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life which will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at AMVETS Post 21. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Flag City Honor Flight or the Findlay Moose. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coldrencrates.com.

So sorry to read about your dad. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
“Love the people that God gives you. They’re a gift that heaven sent. Live and laugh and make some memories. Treasure every moment spent. Cause none of us are here forever. That’s a proven fact. Love the people that God gives you. Cause one day He’ll want them back.”

Davey was one of the regulars at Luckys Tavern and Grill... I will sure miss seeing him every morning that I worked... him having his one Canadian club and water drink, while playing his keno! He would always take his hat off when he came in and when he would put it back on he would always say, "when the hat is on, I'm gone"... his smile and small talk will sure be missed around Luckys Tavern! Prayers be with the family, friends, and loved ones! ❤❤

I’m so sorry for the loss of your father. He was such a caring man and opened his arms and his family to me for many years. He fixed many a bang up job on my cars, even the ones I caused to Dru’s car! He always had a story, smile and a hug for me. I remember all the times with the CCI girls, Dave and Sis and how much fun we had and how much we all looked forward to seeing him.
Sending you love and peace
