John Charles Dahlstrom, 84 of Findlay, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1936 in St. Joseph, MI to the late Edwin and Viola (Kuhn) Dahlstrom. He was married to Barbara “Bobbie” M. Thomas and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2013. John is survived by his daughter, Anita L. Dahlstrom of Findlay; brother, James Dahlstrom of St. Joseph, MI; granddaughter, Piper Dahlstrom of Findlay and significant other, Linda Decker. John was a 1954, graduate of St. Joseph High School. He attended Western Michigan University and Benton Harbor Community College. John was drafted in January 1959. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for two years where he was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA and in Southern Germany. John was a very successful businessman as he held a thirty year career with Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurants. He was the previous owner-manager of KFC restaurants in Findlay and Tiffin. John was a member of the Findlay American Legion, Post 3 and the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. He enjoyed collecting antiques. Private family services will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan. Online condolences may be sent to the family at coldrencrates.com.
