Marilyn Smith Lannes, 78, of Findlay, passed away peacefully on January, 9, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on April 26, 1941 to the late Clifford and Olive Virginia (Marquette) Smith. Marilyn married the late William Dean on June 18, 1960. They divorced in 1985. She married Gary Lannes September 23, 1989 and he survives in Findlay. Marilyn is survived by two children: James (Anne) Dean and Julie (William) McIntosh. She is also survived by four granddaughters: Ashley (Blake) Chaffee, Jessica (Drew) Clark, Kelly (Clint) Hewlett, and Britney (Nicholas) Rackley; two great-grandchildren; and two step-sons: Mike and Chad Lannes. Marilyn worked for Swain Mortgage Company, AAA, and RCA/General Electric. She fulfilled her lifelong dream by going back to nursing school in her 60s and working as an LPN at Fox Run Manor. Marilyn was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She loved reading, spending time with her dogs, and visiting the ocean. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 13, 2020 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00pm on Sunday, January 12 at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to the Humane Society of Hancock County and online condolences can be shared with the family by visiting coldrencrates.com.
