Patricia Lynn Beegle

1949 - 2020

printable version

Patricia Lynn (Wolfe) Beegle Born in Lima, Ohio, on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) 1949, Patricia “Patty” Beegle was a longtime resident of the Findlay area. She passed away June 25, 2020, following a yearlong illness. She was born to the late Margaret Ruth (Worstell) and Joseph Robert Wolfe and grew up outside Findlay with four siblings, who survive: Ann (Craig) Kurtz, Tampa, FL; twins, Joe and Gene (Gloria) Wolfe, Findlay; and Marty (Jim) Moor, Hanover, NH. Upon graduation from Van Buren High School in 1967, Patty attended Findlay College. She married the love of her life Tom Beegle on October 3, 1969, and he survives. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2019. Patty was a loving mother to Lance (Wendy), Trinity, FL; Bret (Lisa), Findlay; and twins Matt (Beth), Ada and Brooke (Brian) Gazarek, Delaware, OH. Her nine grandchildren were a source of great joy. Patty will be remembered as an active resident of the village of Van Buren, serving as a member of the Van Buren School Board for 10 years and cheering on her children at their many school athletic and music events. She worked as an office manager at a local nursing facility. Patty and Tom retired to Apple Valley, OH, where Patty contributed to that community by helping to organize the annual Johnny Appleseed Bazaar and participating in card club. She turned her talents to writing historical romance novels in her later years, publishing under the pen name Lynn Wolfe. She also enjoyed studying genealogy and trips to the casino. Patty and Tom were members of South Vernon United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon and former members of Salem United Methodist Church, Findlay. To recognize one of Patty’s true joys – the annual beach reunion in Florida - the family encourages those coming to visitation and the funeral to celebrate Patty’s life by dressing in comfortable tropical, attire and bright colors. Due to COVID 19, the family will be practicing social distancing and appreciates that friends who are unwell will not attend. Visitation will be from 5:00–8:00pm on Thursday, July 2 at COLDREN CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and on Friday, July 3 for one hour (10:00-11:00am) prior to the funeral at Salem United Methodist Church. Pastor Ben Lowell will officiate at the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Van Buren Athletic or Music Boosters or the charity of their choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coldrencrates.com.

Our hearts were moved when we got the call on Wednesday that Patty had passed over. We hated to think she was suffering from pain and fatigue the many hours she waited for Jesus to call her home. We loved Patty so much. She was the "glue" that held our families together. We can never count the times she and Tom were host and hostess at meals in their home. She loved life and family! We will miss the sound of her laughter. Tom, you have our love and respect for your dedication and faithfulness to Patty over many years. Your unselfishness in the face of trial speaks of your loving character! Gene and Glo Wolfe

I graduated from FHS with Tom and met Patty through him. She was a very special woman. She introduced me to Walnut Creek noodles which I continue to use in all my soups, and the "Buckeye beads" she gave me continue to bring me good luck in golf. I regret that I never made it to Ohio to visit her after her stroke. Brooke, I thank you for all of these updates and I look forward to meeting you sometime. Tom. you and all your family are in may thoughts and prayers.

Tom and Family,
I will miss Patty so much until we meet again . I will never forget all the great times we spent as family together, and how she always loved to open her home for getting together... she made it possible. She was my + sister , with a heart of gold . I have no idea what I would have done if I didn’t have Pat and Tom with me during Buster’s sickness and passing . They were with me and just knew when I needed them . I am for certain , as hard as it is to not have her with us ... she has Family and many dear friends loving up on her as they rejoice together for all eternity. I will miss her until we are reunited ❤️. Patty , please give Buster a extra big hug from me before and after you catch up on the times gone by and the best and beautiful times you have ahead . Love you my dear sister, Deb

Sorry to hear of Patty’s passing. Have fond memories of her from high school. We were given the task of picking out a Christmas tree for the Millers( whom I lived with ) in 67-68 and we came back with a 10 to 12 foot one. Barely fit in room. Fun times. Wonderful lady so happy I had the good fortune to know her !!

My thoughts and prayers to all of you. Patty was one special lady. She will be missed by many. She and Tom raised fantastic children.
Quoting words from a song “ Love the people that God gives you. They’re a gift that Heaven scent. Live and laugh and make some memories. Treasure every moment spent. Because none of us are here forever and that’s a proven fact. Love the people that God gives you because one day he’ll want them back“
