Hallie VanAtta, 70, of Findlay, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at The Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green. She was born on June 6, 1948 in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Vernon Edger and Mildred Marie (McQuillin) Churchill, Sr. On March 17, 2000, she married Gary A. VanAtta, and he survives. Also surviving are her sons: Jeffery Scott (Cheryl) Ricker of Hopkinsville, KY, R. Matthew (Melissa) Ricker of Carey, OH, and Chad Alan Ricker of Edmond, OK; her stepson, Andrew VanAtta of Upper Sandusky, OH; brothers: Vernon Edger (Brenda) Churchill, Jr of Columbus, OH, and Timothy M. (Kim) Churchill of Delta, OH; her sister, Christie (Michael) Meyer, of Findlay; and her uncle, R. Jon McQuillin of Columbus; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Penelope Churchill. Hallie worked at O.I. for 17 years and was a member of the NRA. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. The family would like to thank the caring personnel at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, especially Jackie and Megan, and the staff of Northwestern Ohio Medical Equipment, especially Jina. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 6 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Timothy Churchill will preside and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 5 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice or Flag City Honor Flight.
