printable version

Mick Luke, 79, of Van Buren, Ohio, passed away on February 26, 2019 in Tampa, Florida after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruthann (Cobb) Luke; his sons: Matthew (Carole), and Jeff (Jennifer); 5 grandchildren: Josh, Nick, Sam, Chloe, and Calloway; and one great-grandchild, Dakota. Mick was born on June 18, 1939 to Richard P. Luke and Ruth (Ridge). He was the oldest of three children, and is survived by his two younger sisters: Dixie Stump and Jane Wilch. Mick was a devoted husband, a good father, and loving grandfather who had a deep affection for his family, and boundless generosity to both family and friends, as evidenced by the large circle of friends he maintained throughout his life. Mick loved spending summers with Ruthann at their cottage in Michigan where he enjoyed fishing, boating, playing golf, and entertaining friends and family. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was so proud of his family and he will be missed very much, not only for his love and friendship, but for his leadership, strength, and guidance. Visitation will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, Ohio on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Van Buren Presbyterian Church. Heartfelt condolences for your loss of a husband and father. I am disappointed I will not be on hand to pay my respects this weekend.
I will always cherish the many memories Mick and I shared while he kept the scorebook for VB basketball games. He truly loved VB and the sport of basketball.
Mick made numerous positive contributions to the success of VB basketball!
Thanks,
Lynn Martin

So sorry to hear about Mick's passing. He was a good friend and we shared a lot of laughs at breakfast at the Dark Horse and Kathy's Korner restaurants. I was blessed to have seen Mick one last time last year when I visited Findlay. May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences for your loss. I had the pleasure of working on many of the same projects with Mick over the past 20 years. He was a good friend. There are a limited number of "Good Guys" in the construction industry. Mick was one of them. I will miss him.
May God's Blessings be with you.

I was so sorry to learn of Mick's passing. He was always very kind and very professional. He hung the wall covering in my law office a Chase bank. And when I open pirate's cove, he hung the wall covering there and never charged me because he realized I was doing that for the community and the kids. He was an excellent Craftsman and a fine man and I know he will be missed, but the wonderful thing is we know we'll all be together again someday. God bless you Bob Schuck
