I worked with Burt at Marathon. Meeting him early in my career I was taken how truly kind this man was. Gentle, caring, friendly, and compassionate were my first impressions of Burt when I came to Marathon in 1979. It’s kind of unique in a corporate setting for someone to illicit those traits but that’s who Burt was to me. In later years we were fellow golfers in the Tuesday traveling league. When thinking of Burt I will always have a smile brought to my face.

God Bless, Rest In Peace my friend. !!

Burt will be greatly missed here at Birchaven. We will miss his kindness, his curiosity, and his smile. Although we did not know Burt that long, we could tell he loved his family very much. He would walk around with the pictures of you all and never let them out of his sight. We are all sorry for your loss and it was a pleasure taking care of him.

So sorry for your loss. Even though I never met your dad, I loved hearing stories about him when you were growing up. It sounds like he made some great memories. The ones involving animals always made me laugh. I know you will miss him but luckily you will have those memories with you always. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I can’t think of Burt without thinking of Maxine. We were so blessed to have traveled many places with them. Burt liked sugar free Ice Cream on cruises and sometimes I would see him there without Maxine. Maxine was getting us ready to play cards. I have never met you girls or their grandchildren, but I can tell you I know all about you from a proud mom and dad. Grandchildren you were the light of their lives. God Bless all of you until you meet again. Love,
Rick and Cheryl Waldroupe
Rest In Peace, Burt
