Jack L Frey, 93, of Findlay passed away at Sunrise Assisted Living on July 4, 2019 to be with Jesus Christ. He was born May 10, 1926 to parents Frank and Gladys Frey in Massillon, Ohio. He is the last of four siblings. On July 17, 1948, he married Mildred Remenaric. She passed away September 6, 2018. Together they shared 70 years of marriage. They had three children: Gary (deceased), Linda (Terry) Aukerman, and Deborah (John, deceased) Luna. Jack is also survived by a grandson Matthew Hunter; step-grandchildren: Dawn (Chris) Schonter, and Allie (Jess) Goins; step-great-grandchildren: Nora, Dottie, and Theo Goins, and Jenna and Ryan Schonter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Bradley Aukerman. Jack served in the Navy from 1943-1945 in the Pacific Campaign. He worked as a Millwright and retired from Dow Chemical after 26 years. He was the first hired employee when Dow Chemical came to Findlay. He then worked 5 years at Blanchard Valley Hospital in their boiler room. Many retired years were spent in Naples, Florida. He loved to fish. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. The family would like to thank Sunrise Assisted Living for the extraordinary care given, as well as Great Lakes Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 9, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor Juan Salinas officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, with full military rights performed by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Findlay Hancock Community Foundations entitled The Darrell and Alberta Pritchard Fund for Alzheimer’s Association, programs to educate and advocate for individuals and families touched by Alzheimer’s living in Hancock County, or to Great Lakes Hospice.
