Freddie Lee Stall, age 83, of Findlay, died at 6:00am on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay. He was born on April 3, 1935 in Mortimer to the late Ray and Estella (August) Stall. He married Marilyn Butler and she is deceased. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara VanAtta; his son, Michael (Judy) Stall of Findlay; daughter, Melanie (Jeff) Bolt of Seneca, South Carolina; stepson, Bob (Lori) VanAtta of Finday; stepdaughter, Valerie (Kevin) Breidenbach of The Villages, Florida; brother, Dick (Susan) Stall of Findlay; his grandchildren: Brandon Hilty, Alexandria Craft, Charlee Wingate, Makayla Craft, Michael Stall, Vanessa VanAtta, Bryan Breidenbach, and Brooke Breidenbach; and great granddaughter, Kamre Wingate. He was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Craft; brothers: James, Robert, David "Punk", Donnie, and Daryl; sisters: Joan Corwin, Mary Melfi, and Irene Wehrle; and grandson, Tyler VanAtta. Freddie was a master carpenter, having started his career with his dad and 6 brothers at Ray Stall and Son Construction and finishing his career at Petti Construction. He was involved with building hundreds of houses and condos in Findlay. He served in the United States Army in Special Forces as a Ranger. He was a lifetime member of all the veterans clubs in Findlay and could be found every day at the Legion having lunch with his friends. He loved to fish and looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Canada. He always had a funny story and had a beloved cat named Bubba. As Freddie was an avid Ohio State fan, the family asks that all attending his services proudly wear their Buckeye gear. Visitation for Freddie will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2018, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, with his funeral service at the conclusion of the visitation at noon on Wednesday. Pastor Annette Wellington will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors. Memorials may be given to Bridge Hospice and online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
