So sorry for your loss, Von was a great man, awesome bus driver, heating and cooling man. A great father as he and Bev raised some pretty awesome kids, including my classmate Allison. I wished I could come to visitation on Sunday but will be out of town on a job. Know that I'll be thinking of you and am deeply saddened to hear of Von's passing.

Von was my bus driver all throughout school, I still have the key ring he gave me with a 10 on it which was the bus number he drove. He was such a great mentor, teaching me many skills I still use to this day. Always willing to lend a hand to those in need. I had several years of classes with him and noticed there was something about him being able to take in students who may have seemed to not stand a chance, never giving up and transforming them by the end of the school year. Von certainly touched many lives and will not be forgotten.

We are so sorry to hear of Von's death. What a wonderful man he was. Our Natalie & Nathan just loved him as a bus driver. He would always have treats for the kids on special occasions. Our kids had him during their middle school & high school years. When we moved to Van Buren, he was one of the kind, friendly adults that helped our kids feel welcomed in the school! Our prayers for you all.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I drove bus with Von at VB. There is nothing that he wouldn't do to help someone out. He always was very cheerful and kind. He was a great man. I lost contact with him, but would think of him often and wondered how he was. I remember once when my bus was down, I had to use the backup bus that was a stiff stick that killed my knees. He had me take his and he took that one. That was how he was, alway thinking of others 1st. My prayers are with you all during this time.

I am now 31 years of age but was told by my big brother that our bus driver had passed. #bus#10!! I remember when I was in kindergarten first day Von welcomed me and not making me feel afraid. I always gave him a hug as I left the bus to my house, which as young as I was, knew that meant the world to him. He gave us snickers bars and an orange when we had holiday breaks. You could tell he always had the biggest heart. Funny how I’m 31 years of age but my heart feels like a part has left. He is part of my childhood memories, as well as my siblings. Rev 21: 3,4 states that we shall soon see our loved ones again in a peaceful paradise and we will no longer have to worry about this wicked system of things. All of these will pass. How wonderful to see Von again!!
