David Corliss Lay
1935 - 2019
David C. Lay, age 83, of Findlay, died at 1:15pm on Friday, August 9, 2019 at The Heritage in Findlay. He was born on November 3, 1935 in Burbank, CA to the late Donald and Lillian (Delaney) Lay. On Sept. 26, 1959, he married Joan J. Morin and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2011. He served his country in the US Army. David received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Steubenville. He retired from the Diocese of Steubenville. A daughter, Joyce Wandrey also preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons: Mark (Una) Lay of Findlay, OH, and Steven (Raygene) Lay of TN; two daughters: Dawn (Larry) Walter of MO, and Michelle (Jack) Fouts of Toronto, OH; a brother, Brian (Judy) Lay of OR; son-in-law, Jeff (Lisa) Wandrey of UT; 29 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was a man of faith who gave of himself completely for his family and Christ's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 17, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio with Father Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, August 16 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where a Rosary Service will begin at 7:30pm. I'm at work crying because we didnt get a chance to come visit you face to face.
The absolute sweetest and kindest man loved my twins before they were born and continued to love them though the years.
To his children and grandchildren, Im so sorry. Pap was a wonderful man, please cherish his memories!
