Homer Wayne Lentz, 90, of Findlay, passed away peacefully at 2:32 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born to Harold D. and May (LaRue) Lentz on April 26, 1928 in McComb, Ohio. On June 14, 1953, Homer married the love of his life, Marilyn J. Lampy, who proceeded him in death. They enjoyed travelling and doing mission work in the US and abroad. Together, they had three children: Marty (Ben) Minton of Kokomo, IN, Diane Powell-Rule of Findlay, and Gary (Jackie) Lentz of Brandon, FL. Homer has 7 grandchildren: Jennie Powell, Jeff Powell, Marla (Tim) Branyan, Brandon Minton, Taylor Lentz, Kelsey Lentz, and Erin Lentz; and one great-grandchild, Kayden Branyan. Homer taught school for over 26 years before retiring in 1983. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, tending to his beautiful garden, and travelling. He was also an avid card player – Rook and Rummy were his favorites – and he loved putting puzzles together. Homer Lentz was one of the finest men we ever knew. He & Marilyn were a great team and we will always remember their faithfulness in lifting us up in prayer during our two years as missionaries in Belize. They were such faithful servants for Jesus. Homer was the embodiment of humble servant willing to help in any way he could. Heaven just gained a saint. I’m sure he & Marilyn are enjoying a great laugh about now. Much love

What fond memories we have of Homer! He and Marilyn were part of our family at Stonebridge Church of God when we pastored there. Homer was always willing to help if you asked him. He loved working on mission projects and was very active in the church. What a lovely couple the two made. Condolences to the family at his loss!

Janet and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Uncle Homer's family. We planned to be there but I got sick yesterday morning thinking I would be ok today but that did not happen. We always loved and respected Uncle Homer and know that he is with his Master now and is in no pain.
May God bless you all.
