Glen Eugene Hennings, age 88, of Findlay, Ohio passed away early Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019, embraced with the love of his family at home. Glen is now in Heaven with our Lord Jesus. He was born June 28, 1930, to Walter A. Hennings and Edith Fredericks (Cecander) Hennings in southern Wood County near Hoytville, Ohio. Glen's wife Mona Lou Hennings survives him along with their 4 children: Julie Ann Beaudry, Phoenix, AZ., Vicky Lynn Routzon, Coldwater, MI., Tracy Glen Hennings, Findlay, Ohio, and Jodi Lou Parke, Mt. Blanchard, Ohio. Also his sisters: Joann Burson, Avon, Ohio, Ellen Lou Lange (passed 2018). There are nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great- and even great-great grandchildren. Glen and Mona met while both were serving in our United States Army in California. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past May 2018. He retired from Clay Equipment Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa after 40 years. He also received many honors and awards and was branch manager of the Fort Wayne, Indiana Branch. Glen is also a Korean War Veteran, life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Deshler, Ohio, attended St. John's Lutheran Church, former member of the Deshler Lions Club, Findlay Elks Club. His passion for horses and admiration of the Arabian Breed moved him and his family from town, back to the country living, where he built, owned, and managed Arabian Acre Stables, Horse and Training Facility of Hoytville, Ohio. Glen and his family were also members of the Buckeye Western Horse Association and the Northwest Ohio Arabian Horse Association. On beautiful days you would find Glen on the back of his stallion (Serix Sundance) leading a trail ride either around our country block or at Oak Openings trails and horse shows. Yes, he always carried beef jerky, it was the cowboy way. Glen will be deeply missed by many. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1-3 and 5-7pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Deshler, with one hour of visitation prior to the service (9-10am). Pastor Meg Knape will officiate and interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. I'm so sorry to hear of Glen's passing. Dad always thought so highly of him, as did I. I remember the kind words he had for dad at the selling of our farm.
