Virgil A. Knerr, 87, of Findlay and formerly of Wapakoneta passed away at 1:19am on Friday, June 7, 2019 due to complications from Alzheimer's; he passed at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. He was born in Auglaize County to the late Irvin and Edna (Ruck) Knerr on May 10, 1932. He married Beverly J. Bowersock on June 15, 1952 and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Nicol R. (Niki) Hinesman of Findlay; a grandson, Dietrich Jacob Hinesman of Cleveland; and a sister, Marjorie Arnott of Wapakoneta. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Virgil retired from Air Foil Textron following 38 years of service. He was a lifetime member of both the VFW Post 8445 in Wapakoneta and the AMVETS Post 21 in Findlay and was also member of the American Legion in Findlay. He previously held memberships with the Moose Lodge #658 and the Elks Lodge (50 year member) and the Wapakoneta Country Club. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. The Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will present full military rites. Memorials can be directed to the Arlington Good Samaritan Center or to Bridge Hospice. Online condolences are welcomed at
