Cecil J. Hummell, Jr., 86, formerly of Findlay, passed away at his daughters home in Hillsboro, ND on February 14, 2021. He was born on July 16, 1934 in Findlay to the late Cecil J. and Jenny (Long) Hummell, Sr. Cecil married Dorothy Mae Smith on January 8, 1984, and she passed away on June 18, 2009. Surviving Cecil are his children, Jim (Bobbie) Hummell, Lima, OH, Rick (Gloria) Hummell, Tiffin, OH, Penny (Gene) Christianson, Hillsboro, ND, Cathy (Kenneth deceased) Haugh, Jr., Lima, OH, and step son, John (Toni) Morehead, Torrence, CA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding Cecil in death were his parents, his wife, Dorothy, his sisters, Ruth Anna Courtney, Myrtle Heaston, Ethel Miller, Betty Workman, Lucille Woodruff, Mary Louise Hummell, and Frances Davis, and twin brother, Robert Hummell, as well as step children, Mike, Jerry and Joanne. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:00pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, the Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Cecil's passing. I always enjoyed him and Dorothy at holiday meals at my parents house. I am Donna and Jim Sherick's middle daughter and Ruth and Clyde's 2nd granddaughter. Uncle Cecil's laughter, humor, and zest in life will be greatly missed.
