printable version

Kathleen Elizabeth "Kathy" (Gorman) Breitigan went home to her Heavenly Father at 1:03am on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Kathleen was born to Joseph and Lottie (Henry) Gorman on July 15, 1929, in North Baltimore, Ohio, but spent all of her adult life living in Findlay. The last three years, she resided with her daughter Linda and her husband Ronald. She lovingly referred to Ronald as her personal chef. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday. On July 3, 1946, she married the love of her life, Richard Earl Breitigan in Covington, KY. Richard preceded her in death on May 22, 1987. Together, they had three children. Her surviving children are Linda L. (Ronald E.) Smith, and Richard L. Breitigan, both of Findlay. Her oldest daughter, Barbara A. Dube, preceded her in death on October 1, 2013. Kathleen had five grandchildren: George (Liza) Dube of Anchorage, AK, Richard E. (Jennifer) Dube of North Baltimore, Ronald W. (Melissa) Smith and Gregory S. (Sara) Smith, both of Findlay, and Amanda (Wyatt)(Breitigan) Ault of Rawson. Kathleen also had eleven great-grandchildren: Zoe, Jared, Sadie, Sierra, Preston, Kadence, Karson, Mayson, Arielle, Amelia, and Arlo; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Kathleen is survived by one sister, Bonnie J. Anderson of Goldsboro, NC. She also had four siblings who preceded her in death: Francis Gorman, Betty Sims, Orval Gorman, and a baby sister, Patricia Gorman Before Kathleen lost her eyesight, she spent countless hours crocheting baby blankets that she then donated to missionaries in Haiti and Jamaica so they could be given to infants who needed them. That was one of her greatest joys. Kathleen was a member of the Findlay First United Brethren Church at 629 Rector Avenue. She was very faithful in her attendance. Kathleen loved to read her Bible, until she could no longer see, but that didn't stop her from talking to her Lord in prayer. She could be heard every night after she was tucked into bed, talking to Jesus. She was a dedicated prayer warrior. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 4:00-8:00pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and for one hour (10:00-11:00am)prior to the service. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Young and Rev. Sam Suman will officiate, and burial will follow at Lee Cemetery in Vanlue. Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Hospice or First United Brethren Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coldrencrates.com.
