Darrell Vernon Sturgess, 89 of Findlay passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1923 in Flat River, Missouri to the late Frank and Marjorie (Courtios) Sturgess. On June 28, 1943, he married Margaret Hook; they were married in Norwich, England. He is survived by his wife and four children: Linda (Harold) Spence, Sherry (Jack) Hough, Mike (Sue) Sturgess, all of Findlay and Meryll (Hal) Boles of East Lake, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Dot Searcy of Hazel Park, Michigan also survives. Two brothers prededed him in death, Chet and Jay Sturgess. Darrell retired from the United Trucking Service as a truck driver following many years of service. He served his country during WWII in the US Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching sporting events. All services will be private and burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock Veteran's Memorial Squad.
