Norman Eugene Baker, 88 of Rawson passed away at 7:13 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on March 28, 1924, to the late Emmit M. and Esther (Smith) Baker in Union Twp., Hancock County, OH. He married Edna Jean Haugh on April 23, 1944, and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2001. Norman is survived by daughter, Norma J. (Milton) Clanin of Columbus, OH. Norman was a 1942 graduate of Rawson High School. He was a lifelong farmer and member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Rawson. Norman's family was one of the original settlers of Union Twp. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, especially to Alaska. He also enjoyed dining out, playing cards with close friends, and mowing the yard with his John Deere lawn tractor. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, where there will be visitation for one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Chaplain Meg Knape will officiate and burial will follow in Powell Cemetery, Eagle Twp., Hancock County. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 209 N. Main St., Rawson, OH, 45881 and/or to the Lupus Foundation of America, 1800 N. Blanchard St., Suite 102, Findlay, OH 45840. Online condolences may be made via www.coldrencrates.com.
