Bernard B. "Bernie" Walker, Sr., age 62, of Bloomdale and formerly of Fostoria died at 10:03 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. He was born in Deshler on February 19, 1947, to the late Oscar and Bernal (Nesmith) Walker. Bernie married Flora Hosler and they later divorced. He then married Cindy M. Miller and she preceded him in death on December 6, 1988. Bernie then married Norma Fintel, and they divorced. He owned and operated Bernie's Towing Service and Bernie's Sunoco Gas Stations. Bernie was also a police officer in Cygnet for four years. He was a Detroit Tigers fan. Bernie was well liked, very friendly and a dedicated, hard working man. He was also preceded in death by his son Daniel Walker and two brothers: Keith and Kenny Walker. Surviving are his ten children: Karen (Charlie) Newman, Dawn (Tim) Lorah, Kaylynn (Robert) Mallery, Bernie (Bev) Walker, Jr., Sharon (Delbert) Otto, Anthony (Paula) Bower, Angel Black, Kelly Walker, Cami Walker and Rachel Walker. He is also survived by his brother Brian Walker, sister Rose Thomason, mother and father-in-law Loretta (John) Hutchison, twenty four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Susan Kronbach officiating.
