James L. Ginter, age 85, of Willard, OH and formerly of Cleveland passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Briar Hill Health Campus. He was born on October 6, 1924, in Hoytville, OH to the late Harley and Ruth (Moe) Ginter. James served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII where he earned the Philippine Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Asia Pacific Medal. On December 14, 1946, he married Margaret Jane James and she survives. He is also survived by his two brothers Don Ginter of Findlay, Ron (JoAnn) Ginter of St. Mary's, OH, sister Carolyn (William) Winkle of Findlay, two sisters-in-law Grace Long of Findlay, Marilyn Ginter of North Baltimore, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He worked for the B & O Railroad from 1946-1952. James then worked for Thomas W. Easton and Sons in Cleveland and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore where a Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Bowland officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of James to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
