Ruth N. Smith, 84, of North Baltimore, died at 3:08 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. She was born on February 19, 1926, in North Baltimore, to the late Virgil and Helen (Northup) Krontz. She married Denver C. Smith on October 31, 1960, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2007.
She is survived by her sons: Burton (Julie) of North Baltimore, Carl Smith of North Baltimore and John (Janice) Smith of McComb; a brother, Jim (Pat) Krontz of Ottawa; sisters: Louise Fee of Ada, Sal Baird of Cygnet and Mary Ann (Charlie) Zeltner of Toledo; grandchildren: Megan, Fawn, Dawn, Brad and Cody; great-grandchildren: Skylar, Desiree, Elijah and Kahli.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Emerson Krontz; a sister, Ilene Fee; a grandson, Michael.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Portage Holiness Camp.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Richfield Township Cemetery, Henry County.
Visitation will be held 1 hour (10-11:00 a.m.) prior to the service on Wednesday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
