Theron M. "Ted" Bibler, age 95, formerly of Findlay, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, OH. He was born on January 12, 1915, to the late Jesse D. and Mabel (Wagner) Bibler in Houcktown, OH. He married Pauline Carr, of Bluffton, on December 2, 1945, and she survives. Theron is also survived by three wonderful children: Deborah J. (David) Backus of Tracy, CA, Colette A. (Paul) Mata of Findlay, OH, and Timothy C. (Shirley) Bibler of Springboro, OH; nine grandchildren; and by 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold and Robert Bibler; and by a sister Marilyn Anglemyer. After high school Theron worked for the A & P Tea Co. as Assistant Manager, Wilch Grocery in Arlington, City Market #5 in Findlay, where he was in charge of the vegetable dept., then becoming a salesman for the Aluminum Co. of America until joining the service. Theron joined the U.S. Army proudly serving his country for nearly four years in the Pacific Theater as a Sargent Medical Technician. After the Army, he graduated from the Frank Wiggins Trade Tech School in painting and decorating, in Los Angeles, CA. Later he became a painting contractor in Findlay, OH for over 40 years. Theron was a member and elder of the Grace Brethren Church of Findlay, where he also was President of the Yolk Fellows Mens Groups. He served on the Liberty-Benton School Board and was a member of the Avion Travel Club, where he served as chaplain for a year. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Grace Brethren Church, Findlay, with Pastors Robert Kulp and Dave Thompson officiating. Visitation will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and from 10-11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, where full military rites will be performed by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
