Sue Ellen Conley, age 73 of Findlay, died at 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday. July 28, 2010 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born on July 1, 1937, to the late James and Naomi (Rudolph) Lawton in Fostoria, OH. She married Joseph A. Conley on November 27, 1957, and he survives.
Sue is also survived by two sons: Jim (Pam) Conley of Dearborn Heights, MI and Roger (Karin) Conley of Ada, OH; two daughters: Kathy (Leroy) Jackson of Carey, OH and Becky Walters of Findlay; two brothers: Jim (Wanda) Lawton of Cleveland, OH and Bob (Arlene) Lawton of NJ; two sisters: Bonnie (Chuck) Myers of WA and Sara (John) Wooley of Lima, OH; eight grandchildren: Matt, Alex, and Amber Hablitzel, Hannah and Madison Conley, Leah Conley, and Tyson and Tyler Spence; and by two great-granddaughters: Paige and Seriella. She was also preceded in death by two great-grandsons: Michael and Xander.
Sue was a 1955 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School. After school Sue joined the U.S. Army and served her country proudly from 1956-1958. She was an operating tech. at Blanchard Valley Hospital and a Home Health Care Nurse. Sue was a member of the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, Volunteer at the Red Cross, Hancock Harmonizers, and the Pink Lady Auxiliary at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She enjoyed helping people and playing bingo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Pastor Joe Chrisman will officiate and burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, East of Findlay, where full military rites will be performed by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
