Clyde B. Stone, age 71, of Findlay and formerly of Bryan, College Station, TX passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. He was born on April 11, 1939, in Bryan, TX to the late Richard and Anna (Evans) Stone. On August 5, 1961, he married the love of his life, Carole F. Beidelschies and she survives. They had four fabulous children, Jeffery B. (Pam) Stone, Jason B. Stone, Jennifer L. Stone and Julie L. (Brian) Gundy, nine grandchildren whom he adored, Erica N. Stone, Alec Stone, Ashton Stone, Jordan Stone, Jarrod Crawford, Jaden Crawford, Chelsea Gundy, Nicholas "Nic" Gundy and Gaige Gundy. Three very precious great-grandchildren, Bryce Bickford, Adrianna Hanes and McKinna Hanes. He is also survived by three sisters, Lorraine (Homer) Grant of Prairieville, LA., Kitti (L.J.) Ruffino and Patti Stone, both of Bryan, TX., two brothers Richard (Edna) Stone and Morris Stone both of TX. He was preceded in death by his oldest son Jeffrey B. Stone, two brothers, Jimmie Stone and Pete Stone and two sisters Jo Jordan and Marie Jojola. He served his country by joining the Army National Guard when he was only sixteen, then he was one of the first to be activated during the Berlin Crisis for over a year. Clyde was not only a loving and devoted husband and father but he enjoyed life. He never meet a stranger or someone he didn't like. If anyone needed help he was the first in line, such as hurricane Katrina. Clyde retired from the Atlas Crankshaft in 1994 and during that time gave back to the city of Fostoria in many charitable ways. Clyde and his family moved to Findlay in 1969 and shortly after started to play in country bands. The last band was named Country, Inc. They started out playing in bars and then in clubs, etc. He loved working on houses and spent many years working as a handyman in Findlay and the surrounding area. After retirement, Clyde took up golfing and most recently he and his wife have been operating the Oak Mallett Golf Club which was his dream. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 1:00- 6:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, Ohio. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Dan Young officiating. Burial will follow in Van Horn Cemetery, Amanda Township.
