Darwin Gene Campbell, age 70, of Findlay passed away at 9:19 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Gene was born on August 10, 1939 to the late Jonas and Ella May (Davis) Campbell in Custar, OH. Gene married Phyllis J. Baughman on December 9, 1962, and she survives.
Gene is also survived by four children: Cynthia (Jerry) Kear of Pandora, OH, Steve Campbell of Findlay, Debra (Dean) Klingler of Pandora, OH, and Todd (Julie Clink) Campbell of Findlay; and by eight grandchildren: Amber and Ashley Kear, Aislinn Campbell, Nikole, Adam, and Andrew Klingler, and Megan and Zachary Campbell.
Gene graduated from Liberty-Benton High School and then attended Tiffin University. After that, Gene served his country proudly in the United States Army. Gene worked for Whirlpool and retired in 2000. Gene also attended Trinity Baptist Church, Findlay.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2010. Pastor Michael Spann will officiate and burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, where full military rites will be performed by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
