Vera I. Gaertner, 93, of Findlay, died at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Fox Run Manor. She was born on June 8, 1916, in Cygnet, Ohio to the late Lavern and Mammie (Brenner) Danniels. She married Edward Kuhn on January 17, 1934, and they divorced. They had two children together, Raymond E. Kuhn, deceased and Carol Kuhn (Winfield) Ziessler of Findlay. She had 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She later married Frank Gaertner on November 16, 1988, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1997.
Vera is also survived by two step-daughters: Nancy Schroeder and Betty Kuhn and a sister, Bertha Brooks of Fostoria. Two brothers, Johnny and Harold Danniels along with four sisters, Betty and Bernice Danniels, Maxine Huffman and Inez Haynes also preceded her in death.
Vera formerly worked for RCA. She was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Moose Lodge #698 and the Amvets #21.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor David Noel officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
