Helen Kathyrn La Boiteaux Koepke passed away on Sunday morning, January 24, 2010 at Birchaven in Findlay, OH, at age 94. Born in Richford, VT, on July 27, 1915, she married Dr. George Henry Koepke on October 6, 1940 at Gilbank in Perrysburg, OH. He survives. She is also survived by daughters, Susan M. (David) Healy and Sandra S. Bunting both of Findlay; as well as four grandchildren: Robert (Melissa) Healy, Heather (Kenneth) Caligiuri, Melinda Healy and Lance Healy (Mary Beth) Healy and five great grandchildren: Shayle, Alyssen, and Kelsey Welch, and Luke and Kate Healy. She was preceded in death by a son- in- law: Lloyd Bunting. Helen was a 1933 graduate of Randolph High School, Dayton, OH and attended the University of Toledo and Davis Business College. She was employed at Owens Corning and served as secretary to the vice-president. During WWII she served as a Red Cross Volunteer. She was a member of the Washtenaw County (Ann Arbor) and Blanchard Valley Hospital Medical Wives Auxiliaries, The William Shakespeare Club and served many years as a Girl Scout leader. Helen is currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She will be fondly remembered as a quiet, reserved lady who lived by grace and dignity. Helen and George enjoyed ballroom dancing throughout their many years together. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, Findlay. Dr. Marie Louden-Hanes will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church, Findlay, the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation or The Alzheimer's Association of Northwest, Ohio.
